How to catch a mouse
Easier said than done. Jenny the Cat was rubbish though. Thanks for the help.
Simple format
It was exceedingly simple to format the output of a hash from the Linkedin api.. Don’t know why I just struggled for two hours on it..
<%= simple_format @user.linkedin_token.callback.summary %>
Google is my friend for sure..
Most useful social media tools for business
This is bugging me. What tools does a business need to use to promote themselves and which ones are useless:
- Facebook page – useful if your product targets the right demographic
- Twitter – if your customers are actually interested
- Visual blog – got any pics
- Text blog – got much to say
- Places / 4s - got more than one venue
- Linkedin – for a business?
(Of course, all are useless if you don’t know how to use them).
What else do we need?? Do we need them all or is less more. There’s something missing, something’s not quite right yet.
ahoy, I’m Simon Morley on Rails
Newest Rails project finally coming together – got most of the social profiles added. Just need to get the facebook page up.. Was expecting oauth login to be most problematic but turned out to be a piece of cake (thanks to some fantastic gems).
Steep learning curve with Rails though. Easy to pick-up, then massive ramp up. Think I’m getting there.

Home-made Toe Straps for Flat Pedals
Inspired by an article on Wired, home made toe straps. Seemingly better than the ones available online and they only cost £10. Plus they’re purple!
